- This part of GM/T 0044 specifies an identity-based key exchange protocol implemented using elliptic curve pairs and provides the corresponding process. This protocol allows both communicating parties to calculate and obtain a shared secret key jointly decided by both parties through two or optional three information transfer processes through the other party's identity and their own private keys. This secret key serves as the session key for the symmetric cryptographic algorithm. Options in the protocol enable key confirmation. This section applies to key management and negotiation.
