1.1 This standard specifies a method for measuring the scratch properties of plastics under defined conditions. This method creates scratches by moving a hard device (indenter) of defined geometry across the surface of a test piece under defined load and speed conditions and evaluates the results.1.2 This method determines the behavior of a specified type of test piece under defined scratch conditions. It is used to investigate and classify the type of scratches on the specimen within the limits inherent in the test conditions.
