The standard describes a measurement procedure for the determination and documentation of measuring characteristics (accuracy, stability) of form measurement systems. It shows a straightness measurement procedure which can be used to determine straightness deviations of the linear guide of form measurement systems. The process is suitable for acceptance tests and measurement stability tests. By documenting the test results, changes of the system´s actual state and metrological properties on its site can be determined. Among other things, changes due to environmental conditions (climate, vibration excitation, etc.) can be detected and measures can be taken for improving measuring conditions and correcting errors.
