This standard specifies three test methods for determining the resistance properties of external surface materials of dental equipment expected to require disinfection to chemical disinfectants: immersion test, spray test, and contact test. The choice of which test method to use is at the discretion of the experimenter. This standard does not cover the effectiveness of disinfectants against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. This standard does not specify the possible impact of the stress on the test material during the reagent resistance test on the measurement.
