This International Standard specifies a practical level of fire prevention and protection intended to provide occupants with sufficient time to escape from a fire on board a small craft. It applies to small watercraft with a hull length of up to 24 m (LH), with the exception of water scooters. Excluded from this International Standard are:
——the design and installation of such fixed galley stoves and heaters (including components intended for the distribution of heat) using fuels which are liquid at atmospheric pressure, on small vessels carried by ISO 14895 are covered;
——Carbon monoxide warning systems covered by ISO 12133.
