This International Standard specifies the periodic inspection and testing and integrity verification requirements for continued service of circumferentially and fully wrapped portable gas cylinders made of composite materials (composite cylinders) with liners made of aluminum alloys, steel or non-metallic materials or cylinder designs without liners ( Types 2, 3, 4 and 5) with a capacity of 0.5 l to 450 l, which are intended for use with compressed, liquefied or gases dissolved under pressure. This International Standard has been prepared to describe the periodic inspection and testing of composite cylinders designed to ISO 11119-1, ISO 11119-2 and ISO 11119-3 and may, with the approval of the competent authority, also apply to composite cylinders designed to comparable standards be applied. Where possible, this International Standard can also be applied to bottles with a capacity of less than 0.5 l.
