Scope
This International Standard specifies the principle, essential performance criteria and QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control) measures for an automatic method for measuring the sum of volatile organic compounds (TVOC) content in exhaust gases from stationary sources using a measuring device Non-dispersive infrared absorption (NDIR), which is equipped with a converter to oxidize the VOC to carbon dioxide, is used. This method is suitable for measuring TVOC emissions from processes that do not involve combustion. It allows both continuous measurements with permanently installed measuring devices and discontinuous measurements. The process was tested on painting and printing plants whose exhaust gases had TVOC concentrations of 70 mg/m3 to 600 mg/m3.
