Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of electric chain hoists. This standard applies to electric chain hoists used in general working environments or for lifting molten metal. Electric chain hoists used in other environments can be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to electric chain hoists (hereinafter referred to as chain hoists) used in the following environments: environments with explosive gases, combustible dust and corrosive gases.
