Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, test principles, test equipment, samples, state adjustment, test process, calculation and result presentation, and test report for the determination of interlaminar shear strength of fiber metal laminates by the short beam method. Appendix A gives the double beam method for reference. This standard applies to thermoset or thermoplastic continuous fiber reinforced metal laminates capable of interlaminar shear failure. This standard is not applicable to determine design parameters, but can be used for screening materials or as a quality control test.
