Scope
This standard specifies the design, functional criteria, performance requirements and test methods for pocket personal radiation devices (PRDs) for the detection and alarm of radioactive materials. This standard applies to pocket-sized personal radiometers worn on the human body. PRD is used to detect and indicate the presence and approximate magnitude of penetrating ionizing radiation (including photons and/or neutrons), and to warn users of the presence of radioactive sources significantly higher than the local average background level, but not to provide dose equivalent rates Measurement. This standard does not apply to the performance of radiation protection instruments involved in GB/T 4835.1-2012 and IEC 61526:2010. When a PRD is used in other conditions than when worn on the human body, its neutron-related performance may be reduced.
