This International Standard is intended for suppliers, test center operators, cylinder maintenance operators and anyone authorized to remove valves from gas cylinders. It describes procedures for safely removing valves from gas cylinders, including techniques for identifying inoperable valves. Only the risks due to gas and gas mixtures under pressure are treated; other technical issues related to removing a valve from a gas cylinder are not covered. Parts of the gas industry use specialized equipment and procedures for safely removing valves from low-pressure gas cylinders under pressure, e.g. B. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG); these procedures are not covered by this International Standard.
