Scope

This International Standard specifies a test method for evaluating the maturity of loose, disordered cotton fibers by measuring the airflow resistance of a cotton fiber plug under two prescribed conditions. The method is applicable to cotton taken as random samples from bales. Fiber packages and slivers or cotton of other origins can be tested, but the results may differ from fibers taken from bales.
