Scope
This document describes the in Germany applicable procedures for the one-time and recurring inspection of heating systems. This document is valid in conjunction with DIN EN 15378-1 and specifies the extent and periodicity of the energy inspections of heat generators and heaters as covered by the EPBD. For the purposes of this document, the term "inspection" shall mean the qualitative and / or quantitative recording and assessment of the energy efficiency of the heating installation or its components with the aim of deriving measures for maintaining or improving the energy quality of the heating installations or these components. The inspection as part of the measures for the maintenance of a heating system or its components, (inspection, maintenance and repair) is not covered by this document. The specifications of this standard do not replace the design of a heating system or its components. This document applies to all heating systems in residential and non-residential buildings with a nominal heat output of 4 kW. As authorized in DIN EN 15378-1, such national specifications may be described in national publications, which may be referred to in the national annex of DIN EN 15378-1.
