Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of thermal protectors for room air conditioner compressors (hereinafter referred to as "thermal protectors"). The text of this standard applies to current-temperature automatic reset thermal protectors installed inside the compressor of room air conditioners. Special provis ons applicable to thermal protectors installed on the surface of the compressor casing are given in Appendix A.
