- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for determining the concentration of smoke produced when textiles are burned and decomposed by using the extinction coefficient method under laboratory conditions. This standard is applicable to the determination of smoke concentration of various textile fabrics, non-woven fabrics, coated fabrics and floor covering textile materials (including materials treated with flame retardant treatment). This standard does not apply to thin thermoplastic textile fabrics.
