Scope

This standard specifies the structural type, quality level, load level and the basic requirements for the manufacture, inspection, use and scrapping of lifting rings. This standard is applicable to welded lifting rings with round section of rigging components used for port loading and unloading, and also applicable to non-welded forged lifting rings with circular cross section. This standard does not apply to rings and cast steel rings of non-circular cross-section.
