EN ISO 20504:2016 Fine ceramics (advanced ceramics@ advanced technical ceramics) - Test method for compressive behaviour of continuous fibre-reinforced composites at room temperature
This International Standard describes methods for determining the compressive properties of continuous fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites at room temperature. This method is applicable to all ceramic matrix composite materials that are continuous fiber reinforced, with unidirectional (1D), bidirectional (2D) and multidirectional (xD, with 2 < x 3) continuous fiber reinforcement, which are stressed parallel to one of the main reinforcement axes. This process may also be used on carbon fiber reinforced composites with a carbon matrix (also referred to as carbon/carbon or C/C). Two cases of testing are distinguished: compressive stress between plates and compressive stress using clamping devices.
