This part of ISO 148 applies to Charpy impact tests (V and U notch) for metallic materials to determine the impact energy consumed. This part of ISO 148 does not apply to the instrumented notched-bar impact test specified in ISO 14556. Appendices B and C are based on ASTM E23 and are used with permission from ASTM International, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, PO Box C700, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959, USA.
