This part of ISO 12156 defines a test method for determining the lubricity of diesel fuels using a high-frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR), including those fuels that may contain additives to improve lubricity. Two methods for measuring the wear cap are defined: method "A" - digital camera and method "B" - visual determination. This test procedure applies to fuels used in diesel engines. NOTE It is not known whether this test method can predict the performance of all additive/fuel combinations, including paraffinic fuels for which no additional correlation test has been performed. However, there is no data to suggest that such fuels are outside the scope.
