This document specifies a test method for determining the width-related wet breaking strength of tissue paper and tissue products after soaking. For this purpose, a tensile testing device is used that works at a constant strain rate. There are currently two types of tensile testers commercially available. In one type of tensile tester the sample is positioned vertically, while in the other it is positioned horizontally. This standard applies to both. In vertical tensile testers, soaking is done using a device that is clamped in the lower clamp of the tensile tester, called the Finch immersion device. In horizontal tensile testers, the immersion device is placed between the clamps. In cases where impurities and impurities need to be determined, their detection in tissue paper and tissue products is carried out in accordance with ISO 15755.
