Traditional Chinese medicine - Categories of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinical terminological systems

Scope: This document specifies the classification structure within the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinical practice. It describes the nomenclature of the upper categories and hierarchical categories of TCM clinical terms. It applies only to the clinical terminology system within the TCM discipline and does not apply to the comprehensive classification structure of TCM, the concept definitions of the hierarchical categories, and the terminology of individual TCM concepts. The following are outside the scope of this document: 　——Comprehensive categories of TCM; 　——Concept definitions of the hierarchical categories; 　——Terminology of individual TCM concepts; 　——Terms or categories of Kampo, Korean medicine and other traditional medicine.
