This standard specifies two methods for the determination of residual blowing agents in rigid polyurethane foam using headspace gas chromatography, namely method A hydrogen flame ionization detector method (FID) and method B electron capture detector method (ECD). This standard is applicable to the density range of rigid polyurethane foam from 30 kg/m to 80 kg/m. Method A is suitable for the determination of alkanes (cyclopentane, is pentane) and methyl formate blowing agents in rigid polyurethane foam; Method B is suitable for the determination of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC-11), hydrogen and hydrogen in rigid polyurethane foam. Determination of chlorofluorocarbons (HCFC-141b, HCFC-22) and hydrofluorocarbons (HFC-245fa, HFC-365mfc, HFC-227ea, HFC-134a) blowing agents. This standard does not apply to open-cell rigid polyurethane foam.
