Scope

This standard specifies two test methods for the deformation of plastics used for structural and insulating purposes under a constant compressive load. Method A of this standard is applicable to rigid plastics connected by rivets, bolts or similar connections, to determine its ability to withstand compression without yielding or loosening over time; method B is applicable to non-rigid plastics, to determine its recovery over time after deformation to full size capability.
