Scope
This part of GB/T 33047 specifies a general method for the analysis of polymers using thermogravimetric techniques, which can be used to measure the decomposition temperature and decomposition rate of polymers, and can also measure the amount of volatiles, additives and/or fillers contained therein . This section applies to the analysis of liquid or solid samples. Solid samples can be in the form of pellets, granules or powders. This standard also applies to shaped products of suitable dimensions. Thermogravimetric methods can be classified into dynamic mode (mass change with temperature or time under program control conditions) or isothermal mode (mass change with time at constant temperature). Thermogravimetric methods can also be performed in different atmospheres, e.g. for decomposition in an inert atmosphere free from oxidative degradation reactions.
