GB/T 14400-1993 Information processing systems-Data communication. High-level data link control balanced classes of procedures. Data-link layer address resolution/negotiation in switched environments (English Version)
This standard applies to data stations using HDLC balance type procedures, which provide two specific parameter fields for XID command/response capabilities, described below. When the preassigned, system-selected address is not known on a speculative basis, such as in the case of switched circuit data links; it can be used to select a link address for a pair of operations. Other functions of the XID frame (including the exchange of operating parameters, command/response support, higher layer information, etc.) can be completed together with the determination of the data link layer address, or after the address is determined, with another XID frame exchange. . NOTE: In the case where the remote DTE does not have XID frames, "station-wide" addresses, or full address support capabilities as defined in Section 4 below, procedures for determining addresses are outside the scope of this standard.
