Scope
This standard stipulates the technical specifications for the production and maintenance of time-division multiplexing equipment that is open on the voice band (300-3400Hz) line, transmits on the line at a rate of 2400bit/s, and adopts bit interleaving. This standard is formulated for time-division multiplexing equipment with a transmission rate of 2400bit/s in the voice channel of the 300-3400Hz voice band. Due to the different requirements of satellite channels and cable channels, their technical standards are divided into two categories: A and B, and equipment can also be divided into A, B, and AB. A and B should meet both A and B technologies standard.
