- This standard specifies the general requirements, quality assessment regulations and test methods for metallized polycarbonate film dielectric DC fixed capacitors. This standard applies to metallized polycarbonate film dielectric DC fixed capacitors for electronic equipment. This type of capacitor may have "self-healing characteristics" depending on the conditions of use, and is mainly used where its AC component is smaller than the rated voltage. This standard covers capacitors in two performance classes: Class 1 for long-life use and Class 2 for general use. Fixed radio interference suppression capacitors are not included in this specification.
