- This standard specifies a general method for measuring the A-weighted sound power level of engineering machinery radiated noise under the condition of a free field above a reflecting plane. This standard is applicable to all kinds of construction machinery and construction equipment used outdoors (hereinafter referred to as sound source). The radiated noise can be steady-state, unsteady-state broadband or narrow-band noise. This standard should be used as the basis for formulating specific standards for measurement methods of sound power levels of radiated noise from construction machinery.
