Scope

This standard specifies the measurement method for the flow distance of thermosetting phenolic resin for production and control purposes. This standard specifies the test conditions such as ingot preparation, test temperature and glass plate inclination involved in the measurement of flow distance. The flow distance is related to the activity and melt viscosity of the resin. Resins with fast cure rates and high melt viscosities have short flow distances.
