- This standard specifies the methods and requirements for seismic qualification to verify that safety system electrical and instrumentation and control equipment can perform their safety-related functions during and after an earthquake. As the anti-seismic appraisal is only a part of equipment appraisal, this standard must be used in conjunction with GB12727 "Quality Appraisal of Electrical Items for Nuclear Power Plant Safety System". This standard applies to the electrical equipment and instrumentation and control equipment of the safety system of nuclear power plants, including any interface components or equipment whose failure will have a harmful effect on the performance of the safety system.
