- This standard specifies the instruments and equipment, test blocks, requirements for inspectors, inspection methods, inspection procedures, evaluation of defects, quality grades, records and reports of inspection results, etc. for ultrasonic inspection of forged and rolled steel bars. This standard is applicable to forged and rolled steel rods with a diameter of 20 to 250 mm by ultrasonic pulse reflection method, and is also applicable to high-temperature alloy rods, but not to austenitic coarse-grained steel rods.
