- This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of elastic damping reed couplings (hereinafter referred to as couplings). This standard is applicable to the couplings used to adjust the natural frequency of torsional vibration of the mechanical system and reduce the amplitude of resonance in diesel engine power devices such as ships, diesel locomotives, diesel engine generator sets, heavy vehicles and industrial diesel engine power sets.
