- This standard specifies the design and manufacturing requirements for the packaging safety of low- and medium-level radioactive solid waste; radioactivity limits and surface contamination limits: marking and labeling, storage and handling requirements, etc. This standard applies to the packaging of low- and medium-level radioactive solid waste produced by various nuclear facilities, nuclear research institutes, and isotope production and application units. This standard does not apply to packaging of radioactive tailings and waste radiation sources.
