Scope

This standard specifies the equipment, samples, test procedures and evaluation of test results for the horizontal combustion test of a single wire and cable. This standard is applicable to test the flame retardancy of a single trailing flexible cable when it is directly burned with a specified flame in a horizontal state, especially for trailing flexible cables used in mines. Passing the test of this standard does not imply the same flame retardancy under all conditions of use, for example when used in bundles.
