Scope
This standard defines a high-level part (source) programming language, which is processed by a computer to generate a NC machining program. The language is a problem-oriented language developed for part machining. It is similar to the programming language of scientific computers and contains many programs and most of the capabilities of computers in this regard. In addition, it provides commands for shape description and machining motion. The language's instruction set is sequentially divided into two stages of processing, namely information processing and post-processing. Information processing basically has nothing to do with data-controlled machine tools, while picking and placing must take into account the characteristics of the control system of CNC machine tools. The output of the information processing program (tool position data), which is also the input of the post-processing program, is a separate machine standardized file item. The definition of tool position data actually includes the part programming language necessary to use the post-processing program, which is the basic reference language for this part. The language is a reference language, that is, it is not intended that all of the language be used. Certain parts or subsets of the language may be appropriate for particular circumstances. The reference language is divided into many logical pages according to statement and program type, so that each logical page can become a unit for further standardization in the future. The language of reference is as written. Appendix A (supplement) lists the rules for representing reference languages on punched cards. Appendix B (supplement) lists the reference syntax descriptions.
