Scope
This part of ISO 28706 describes a test method for determining the resistance of enameled articles to attack by alkaline liquids at temperatures between 25 °C and 95 °C. The device used consists of a cylindrical vessel in which only an enamelled sample is tested. NOTE 1 The test method was originally developed to determine the resistance of enamels and enamelings to a hot caustic soda solution. Within the scope of this part of ISO 28706, resistance to other alkaline liquids may be tested. NOTE 2 This part of ISO 28706, which uses a cylindrical vessel, is generally used in tests carried out on enamel coatings for the chemical industry.
