This International Standard specifies performance requirements and test methods for resealable packaging intended to provide protection against opening by children. Acceptance criteria are established for packaging that has been tested in accordance with the established procedures. These procedures not only provide a measure of the effectiveness with which the packages resist access by children, but also extend to the accessibility of the package contents by adults. This International Standard is applicable to resealable packaging for any product which, when properly used, is intended to be exposed or removed from the packaging. This International Standard is intended for type testing only and is not intended for quality assurance purposes.
