- Scope
- This International Standard specifies a gas chromatogrphic method for the determination of oligomers in propylene(proprene)for industrial use. The method is applicable to propylene hacving propene dimers{hexenes}contents greater than 20mg/kg and propene dimers{hexenes}contents greater than 30mg/kg NOTE - Propylene dimers are the main part of the called "green oil"formed during partial hydrogenation to remove propadiene and propyne from propylene(about8%).Propylene dimers consist mainly of methylpentenes,2,3-dimethylbutenes(about 25%),hex-1-enes{about12%}and C6(about 20%).
