The civil monetary penalties provided by law within the jurisdiction of the respective components of the Department, as set forth in paragraphs (a) through (d) of this section, are adjusted in accordance with the inflation adjustment procedures prescribed in section 5 of the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990, Public Law 101–410, as follows. The adjusted penalties set forth in paragraphs (a), (c), and (d) of this section are effective for violations occurring on or afterSeptember 29, 1999.
