- This standard specifies an engineering method for the determination of the sound power level of noise under free sound field conditions on a reflecting plane. The engineering measurement method of noise sound power level in reverberation room is included as an appendix (supplement) (see Appendix D). This standard applies to the determination of the noise sound power level of reciprocating pump units and steam reciprocating pumps (hereinafter referred to as pump units) including prime movers.
