- This standard specifies the nuclides, structural forms, characteristics and technical requirements of the β and α emitter reference standard planar sources (hereinafter referred to as "reference sources") used to calibrate radioactive surface contamination monitors. This standard is applicable to the calibration of β (maximum energy of β greater than 0.15MeV) and α reference sources of surface pollution monitors (or measuring instruments).
