This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of analog quartz clocks (hereinafter referred to as "quartz clocks"). This standard applies to quartz clocks with a crystal oscillator frequency of 32 768 Hz and a nominal operating voltage of DC 1.50 V. Quartz clock movements and other timing devices using such movements can also be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to quartz clocks for special purposes, such as those used in aircraft, ships and automobiles.
