Scope
This part of GB/T 31897 specifies the performance requirements of LED lamps, as well as the test methods and conditions to show that they meet the requirements of this part. It applies to LED luminaires for general lighting. LED luminaires include the following types: Type A - luminaires using LED modules that have been shown to comply with IEC 62717; Type B - luminaires that use LED modules that have not been shown to be compliant with IEC 62717; Type C - luminaires that use LED lamps and Covered by IEC 62722-1. The requirements of this section relate only to type testing. This section does not involve C-type lamps. This standard does not deal with LED luminaires that produce colored light, nor does it deal with luminaires that use OLEDs (Organic LEDs). These performance requirements are supplementary to Chapters 1 to 9 of GB/T 31897.1, unless alternative measurement methods or limits are specified in Part 2-1. Since this part is developed and written at the same time as the standard for LED modules, the module conformity specified in IEC 62717 can be transferred to the whole luminaire when appropriate. In most cases, the lifetime of LED luminaires is much longer than feasible test times, therefore, verifying the lifetime claimed by the manufacturer cannot be done with sufficient confidence. For this reason, it is beyond the scope of this standard to accept or reject the manufacturer's claimed life in excess of 25% of the rated life (up to 6 000 h). In this part, the lumen maintenance rate level of the limited test time is selected to replace the verification of the life time. Therefore, grade numbers are not predictions of achievable life times. The grade is the grade of the luminous flux attenuation characteristic, which reflects the consistency with the information provided by the manufacturer before the test starts. Extrapolation of test data is required in order to verify the claimed life time. A general approach to predicting measurement data beyond a limited test time is under consideration. See IEC 62717 Annex C for an explanation of the recommended lifetime time metric. For LED lamps conforming to this part, it can be expected to start and work normally at 92%~106% of the rated power supply voltage and at the ambient temperature claimed by the manufacturer. The LOR (Light Output Ratio) evaluation of LED luminaires is under consideration.
