- Scope
- This standard specifies the method for the determination of sulfur content in petroleum products by X-ray spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of the total sulfur content in liquid petroleum products and solid products that can be liquefied at a suitable temperature or dissolved in a certain solvent. The concentration range employed will vary with the instrument used and the nature of the sample. Under suitable conditions, the determination range of sulfur content is greater than 0.0010% (m/m) for samples that are essentially normal paraffins.
