This standard specifies the method for determining the content of liquid petroleum products by volumetric titration with Karl Fischer reagent. This standard applies to the determination of liquid petroleum products with a water content of 50-1000ppm. Free bases, metal oxides, oxidizing agents, reducing agents, inorganic oxygen-containing weak salts, mercaptans, some simple nitrogen-containing compounds, and substances that react chemically with iodine interfere with the determination, 1ppm of sulfur (such as mercaptans) The resulting titration error corresponds to approximately 0.2 ppm of water.
