- This standard specifies the safety rules and operating procedures that should be followed in the design, installation, operation and maintenance of air compressors. This standard applies to generally fixed or skid-mounted volumetric air compressors (hereinafter referred to as compressors). This standard does not apply to the following types of compressors: a. Compressors with shaft power less than 2kW; b. Compressors with discharge pressure less than 0.05MPa; c. Compressors with discharge pressure greater than 5MPa; d. Compressors for special air supply for diving and surgical operations; c. Compressors for air brake systems.
