This method is suitable for the determination of mercaptan sulfur in jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene and light diesel oil without hydrogen sulfide in the range of 0.0003-0.01% (m/m). There is interference when the elemental sulfur content is greater than 0.0005% (m/m). This method is of great significance in evaluating the odor of jet fuel, gasoline, kerosene and light diesel oil, the adverse effect on the rubber parts of the fuel system and the corrosion of the fuel system.
