Scope
This standard applies to short-primary linear induction motors for driving rail vehicles with a primary mounted on the car body and a secondary mounted on the track and coupled only to the primary magnetic field. This standard provides a basis for determining the performance of linear induction motors through tests, evaluating the adaptability of the motor to a specified duty system, and comparing with other linear induction motors. Linear induction motors covered by this standard are powered by converters.
