Scope
This part of GB/T 21562 provides guidance on the application of RAM requirements for rolling stock in the whole life cycle activities of the system from bidding/tendering to operation verification specified in GB/T 21562-2008. This part is applicable to users/operators and major suppliers of rolling stock (including EMUs), and mainly stipulates the following contents: --The work that the user/operator of rolling stock is responsible for: ? Define the type of operation in terms of demand, service availability and economics; Evaluate different bidders and evaluate RAM requirements on a common basis according to the specified RAM documentation; During the design/development phase, perform a step-by-step detailed inspection of RAM activities The specified RAM files output during the process, confirm whether the rolling stock meets the RAM requirements; verify that the delivered rolling stock meets the requirements of the specified RAM. --The main supplier of rolling stock is responsible for the completion of the work: ? Understand the user/operator's demand for RAM; ? In the design/development stage, provide real performance, by performing detailed RAM analysis to show that the products it provides can meet the RAM requirements; ? Prove that the delivered products meet the RAM requirements. For the LCC model, this section specifies only the necessary key RAM parameters. This section does not cover the following: -- RAM values related to different RAM requirements (but 5.4 provides simple activity guidelines for deeper decision-making and selection of appropriate values); -- specific RAM documents and activities (but this section gives examples of typical data and file templates for recording RAM analysis output).
