This standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, inspection and assessment methods, and microstructure grade diagrams for the metallographic structure of as-cast bainite gray cast iron cylinder liners for internal combustion engines. This standard is applicable to the inspection and evaluation of the metallographic structure of as-cast bainitic gray iron cylinder liners (hereinafter referred to as cylinder liners) for reciprocating piston internal combustion engines with a cylinder diameter not exceeding 200 mm.
